Seoul: Kia Corp. announced that its global sales increased by over 10 percent in July compared to the previous year, primarily due to a robust demand for its sport utility vehicle (SUV) lineup. The South Korean automaker reported sales of 298,037 vehicles worldwide last month, marking a 13.4 percent rise from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Sportage was Kia's top-selling model with 52,714 units sold. It was followed by the Seltos, which recorded 36,429 units, and the K4 compact sedan, with 20,789 units. Overseas sales experienced an increase of 11.6 percent year-on-year, reaching 242,556 units in July, while domestic sales saw a significant jump of 21.3 percent to 54,604 units.
