Seoul: Park Jin-young, founder of JYP Entertainment and a successful solo artist, was appointed to co-chair a new presidential committee on pop culture, the presidential office announced.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee Jae Myung appointed Park to the ministerial-level position, where he will lead the committee on pop-culture exchange alongside Culture Minister Chae Hwi-young. The committee aims to promote the global spread of Korean pop culture amid increasing international interest in Korean music, dramas, and games, as stated by the presidential office.

The initiative aligns with President Lee's national vision, known as the "K-initiative," which seeks to establish South Korea as a leading cultural powerhouse. This vision was a key component of Lee's platform during his presidential campaign.
