Busan: Two players are in a tie for the lead as they head into the final round of LIV Golf Korea, with two South Korean players aiming to break into the top 10. Joaquin Niemann of Chile and Talor Gooch of the United States are co-leaders after completing 54 holes, both reaching nine-under at the Asiad Country Club in Busan on Saturday. The winner of the tournament will receive a prize of US$4 million. Niemann, who was victorious five times last year but has yet to win in 2026, made six birdies, including a critical one on the 18th hole, against two bogeys for a score of 66 on the par-70 course.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Gooch started his third round with a series of 14 pars before securing a birdie at the par-5 15th hole. He concluded his round with three more pars, finishing with a score of 69. Gooch has previously secured three wins in 2023 and added another victory in 2025.
Scott Vincent from Zimbabwe is currently in third place at eight-under. Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau finds himself in a three-way tie for sixth place at six-under, following a round of 71 on Saturday that included three birdies and four bogeys. South Korean players Mun Do-yeob and Song Young-han are tied as the leading South Korean participants at three-under, placing them in a five-way tie for 14th position.
Mun, who became a member of the Korean Golf Club this week, finished with a score of 71, after two consecutive rounds of 68. He recorded four birdies but also had three bogeys and one double bogey. Song achieved a score of 69, with four birdies and three bogeys.
LIV Golf also maintains team scores, with the total scores of all four team members determining the standings. Led by DeChambeau, Crushers Golf Clubs is currently in first place at 16-under, narrowly leading Gooch's OKGC by one stroke. The victorious team will earn $3 million, which will be divided among its four members.
