Daegu: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived on Tuesday at an airport in the South Korean city of Daegu for a two-day visit that will include a summit with President Lee Jae Myung in his hometown of Andong. The meeting is expected to address various bilateral and regional issues.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee and Takaichi are scheduled to hold discussions in Andong, about 190 kilometers southeast of Seoul, later in the day. The agenda is set to cover issues such as North Korea and the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict in the Middle East, reflecting the broad spectrum of concerns shared by the neighboring countries.
Takaichi's visit is a follow-up to Lee's trip to her hometown of Nara Prefecture in January. The meetings are part of the "shuttle diplomacy" initiative aimed at strengthening ties between Japan and South Korea.
