Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest automobile manufacturer, reported a modest increase in its sales for the month of July, witnessing a 0.5 percent rise compared to the same month last year. The company attributed this growth to increased demand both domestically and internationally.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor sold 334,794 vehicles last month, a slight increase from the 333,294 units sold in July of the previous year. The company's domestic sales saw a growth of 0.4 percent, reaching 56,227 units compared to 56,009 units a year ago. Meanwhile, the overseas market experienced a 0.5 percent increase, with sales climbing to 278,567 units from the previous year's 277,285 units.
In the period from January to July, Hyundai's cumulative sales experienced a slight uptick of 0.2 percent, totaling 2,401,786 vehicles compared to 2,397,138 units in the same timeframe last year. Within this period, domestic sales rose by 2.3 percent to 411,127 units, while overseas sales saw a minor decline of 0.2 percent, decreasing to 1,990,659 units from 1,995,425 units.
A company official stated, "To flexibly respond to customer demand, we will implement optimal sales strategies, including product optimization for high-demand models and improvements in other key models."
