Seoul: Hyundai Mobis Co., South Korea's leading auto parts manufacturer, announced it has secured an order from Mercedes-Benz AG to supply chassis modules for the luxury car brand's European production.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this agreement will see Hyundai Mobis providing key auto components, specifically chassis modules, from its newly established production facility in Kecskemet, Hungary. These modules are integral parts of a vehicle's structure, comprising the steering, braking, and suspension systems.

While Hyundai Mobis did not disclose the contract's financial details, the volume of components, or the supply timeline, this deal signifies their second collaboration with Mercedes-Benz for chassis modules. Previously, Hyundai Mobis has been supplying these components for vehicles produced by the German automaker in the United States since 2022.

Hyundai Mobis currently operates four production plants across Europe, with facilities in the Czech Republic and Turkey also supplying components to Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp., part of the Hyundai Motor Group. Additionally, the company plans to commence operations soon at its new battery supply assembly facility in Spain, marking its fifth European manufacturing site.

The company aims to increase its sales to global clients to 40 percent by 2033 and is looking to expand its presence in high-growth markets, including China and India.
