Hyundai and Kia Earn Seven Honors at 2025 Red Dot Awards

Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Corp. have collectively won seven honors at the 2025 Red Dot Awards, one of the world's most prestigious design competitions, according to the automakers Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia's EV3 compact electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) won the Best of the Best award in the cars and motorcycles category. Meanwhile, Hyundai's Ioniq 9 electric vehicle (EV), Palisade SUV, a smart taxi indicator, and three other products each received accolades in their respective categories.

The Red Dot Awards is a prestigious international design competition, alongside the iF Design Award and International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Each year, Red Dot announces winners in various categories, including product design, brand and communication, and design concept.

Kia's EV3 was praised for its bold and futuristic styling, which embodies Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy. Its solid body and dynamic roofline create a visually striking contrast.

Hyundai's Ioniq 9 boasts a streamlined exterior design inspired by boats to reduce air resistance. The Palisade SUV was recognized for its spacious proportions, bold lighting signature, and premium interior, designed to evoke a luxury living space.

Hyundai's smart taxi indicator, launched with the Sonata taxi model in April 2024, was acknowledged for enhancing urban aesthetics. A spokesperson from Hyundai Motor Group stated that the awards reflect the group's dedication to design innovation and its goal to provide unique mobility experiences to customers.
