Seoul: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. reported a significant increase in its second-quarter net income, achieving 210.9 billion won (US$151.5 million), which marks a 36.9 percent rise compared to the previous year. This financial disclosure was made public on Thursday through a regulatory filing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating profit for the quarter reached 471.5 billion won, up from 195.6 billion won in the same period last year. Additionally, sales experienced a growth of 6.8 percent, totaling 4.14 trillion won. The reported operating profit aligns with the average estimate gathered through a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data division of Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate for net profit was not available.
