Seoul: Hanmi Science Co. on Thursday reported its third-quarter net profit of 17.3 billion won (US$12.5 million), marking a 44 percent decrease from the same period last year. The pharmaceutical company's financial results highlight a challenging quarter, despite an increase in overall revenue. According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanmi Science stated in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the July-September period also saw a significant drop, falling 37.2 percent year-on-year to 22.4 billion won. This decline in profitability is juxtaposed against a revenue increase of 4.2 percent, bringing the total revenue for the quarter to 322.5 billion won. The report reflects the broader financial pressures facing the industry and the company's ongoing efforts to navigate a complex market environment.
