Seoul: A special counsel team on Friday additionally indicted former President Yoon Suk Yeol on charges of violating the election law during his presidential campaign. Special counsel Min Joong-ki's team indicted Yoon for allegedly speaking falsehoods when he was a presidential candidate for the People Power Party before his election in March 2022.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon is accused of lying that he did not introduce a lawyer to a former tax agency official during a debate in December 2021. The ousted former president is already standing trial in connection to his failed December 2024 martial law bid, including over charges that he led an insurrection.
