Seoul: Former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for his involvement in an insurrection, specifically for aiding former President Yoon Suk Yeol during a brief period of martial law. The ruling was made on Wednesday by the Seoul Central District Court, marking a significant legal decision regarding the martial law declaration on December 3, 2024, which was confirmed to be an act of insurrection.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the special counsel team led by Cho Eun-suk had initially recommended a 15-year sentence for Han.
