Seoul: Defense ministers of South Korea and Japan are scheduled to hold talks in Seoul over the weekend, as announced by Seoul's defense ministry on Friday. The discussions aim to enhance defense cooperation between the two countries, reflecting a positive shift in their bilateral relations.
According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back will meet with Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi on Sunday. This meeting occurs less than a month after their previous encounter at a defense forum in Singapore. Koizumi's visit to Seoul, which spans two days starting Saturday, is described by the ministry as a "reciprocal visit following Ahn's trip to Yokosuka in January for talks with his Japanese counterpart."
