Seoul: The defense chiefs of South Korea, the United States, and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing trilateral cooperation during a brief meeting held on the sidelines of an international defense forum in Singapore. This encounter took place during the Asia Security Summit, commonly known as the Shangri-La Dialogue.

According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back met with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi. Despite lasting only about five minutes due to time constraints, the meeting underscored the importance the three nations place on their partnership and their determination to further develop it.

The brief meeting in Singapore follows a similar encounter in Malaysia in November, where the defense chiefs met during a multilateral gathering of defense ministers led by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. These interactions highlight the ongoing efforts of South Korea, the United States, and Japan to strengthen their security cooperation amid regional challenges.
