Pasadena: CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun visited CJ Olive Young Corp.'s inaugural U.S. store in California, emphasizing the need to foster healthy and stylish lifestyles among American consumers, the company announced.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee highlighted the opening of the health and beauty retailer's first U.S. outlet as a crucial "first step" in expanding within the United States, recognized as the world's largest consumer market. The store, spanning 803 square meters, is strategically located in a bustling commercial area in Pasadena. It is set to offer around 5,000 products from approximately 400 beauty and wellness brands, aiming to cater to diverse consumer needs.

CJ Olive Young has revealed plans to establish five more offline stores in the U.S. over the coming year. The expansion will commence on the West Coast, with gradual progression towards the East Coast, including a store in New York. This strategic growth reflects the company's ambition to solidify its presence across key regions in the nation.

Ahead of his visit to Los Angeles, Lee toured CJ Cheiljedang's U.S. operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, marking his first visit to the site in seven years. Additionally, he attended the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, an annual PGA Tour event in Texas, further showcasing the company's diverse interests in the U.S. market.

Lee's itinerary in the U.S. is expected to extend until early next month, during which he will assess the competitiveness of future content businesses, such as ScreenX and 4DX. Furthermore, discussions on potential global partnerships are anticipated, as the company aims to explore and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the global market.
