Daegu: Sawang Janpram, the oldest competitor taking part in the World Masters Athletics Championships (WMAC) under way in the southern South Korean city of Daegu, won another gold medal Saturday, grabbing two golds at the event.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Thai athlete, 106, won the gold medal in the men's 400-gram javelin throw for competitors aged 100 and older. He threw 10.04 meters on his first attempt. The win comes just two days after he won a gold in the 1-kilogram discus throw for competitors aged 100 and older by throwing 7.59 meters, setting an amateur world record in the category.

Following the win Saturday, Janpram shortly said he is satisfied with his performance and is happy. The Thai athlete and his daughter and coach Siripan, 74, are among the more than 11,000 participants from 106 countries taking part in WMAC Daegu. WMAC Daegu runs through Thursday next week across 34 categories in the areas of track, field, and road racing.
