Seoul: South Korea's top central banker will attend an annual U.S. symposium and other international meetings to discuss the latest global economic conditions and monetary policy direction, the Bank of Korea (BOK) said Thursday. BOK Gov. Shin Hyun-song will engage in discussions focusing on modern digital payment systems with global central bankers and market experts.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Gov. Shin will participate in the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, hosted by the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The symposium, taking place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, will run for three days starting Thursday (U.S. time). The meeting will serve as a platform for discussing critical economic issues and policy directions.

Following the Jackson Hole symposium, Gov. Shin will attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, scheduled for Monday in Asheville, North Carolina. This gathering will provide a venue for further discussions on global economic strategies.

Subsequently, Gov. Shin is set to travel to Basel, Switzerland, for the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) meetings starting on September 5. These meetings will bring together central bankers and financial officials to deliberate on financial stability and collaborative international efforts.
