Cannes:<Text>

Jisoo of BLACKPINK received the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at the 2026 Cannes International Series Festival (Canneseries), organizers said Friday. The festival highlighted Jisoo's dual career in music and acting, applauding her efforts to broaden her filmography with a variety of roles and formats.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the festival emphasized Jisoo's global influence, screen presence, and her ongoing artistic development, identifying her as a significant and promising figure in both Korean and international entertainment. In March, Jisoo's latest television series "Boyfriend on Demand" premiered on Netflix, featuring her in the role of Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who navigates the challenges of romance through a virtual dating subscription service.

Jisoo personally accepted the award on stage in Cannes on Thursday, during the festival's ninth edition, which takes place from April 23-28. The Canneseries, established in 2018, is an annual festival that celebrates exceptional TV series from around the world. It includes four official sections: Competition, Short Form Competition, Documentary Series Competition, and Out of Competition, alongside the Rendez-Vous section, a curated program outside of competition.
