Daegu: A local court has issued arrest warrants for a woman in her 20s and her husband, following charges of murdering her mother and abandoning her body. The Daegu District Court granted the warrants after a hearing, citing concerns that the suspects might flee.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the husband, also in his 20s, is accused of killing his mother-in-law, who was in her 50s. The incident took place on March 18 at his officetel in central Daegu, approximately 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul. The mother-in-law was allegedly beaten to death using the suspect's hands and feet.
The couple reportedly placed the victim's body in a suitcase and later abandoned it in the Sincheon Stream, a location within the city. They were detained on Tuesday after admitting to abandoning the body.
Further details reveal that the husband confessed to police that he committed the crime due to grievances with his mother-in-law, who was residing with the couple. He cited her being noisy and disorganized as reasons for his actions.
