Seoul: An appeals court has increased former Interior Minister Lee Sang-min's prison sentence to nine years from the previous seven. This adjustment was made due to his involvement in the failed martial law bid orchestrated by former President Yoon Suk Yeol.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul High Court handed down the revised sentence after determining that Lee played a significant role in the insurrection. The court found Lee guilty of issuing orders to disrupt water and power supplies to media outlets that were critical of the administration during that period.
