Seoul: The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) on Wednesday hosted a seminar to discuss potential cooperation among South Korean and U.S. companies in the blockchain industry. The U.S. business lobby held the Blockchain Seminar 2025 in Seoul, gathering around 70 business officials to explore South Korea's role in the global financial market amid the ongoing digital transformation.
According to Yonhap News Agency, blockchain platforms allow participants to share and verify transactions or data through a distributed ledger system, where the decentralized structure makes unauthorized forgeries or alterations extremely difficult. The forum took place in the context of Washington's recent efforts to boost its competitiveness in the digital assets and blockchain sectors.
During the event, participants underscored the importance of Asia's fourth-largest economy utilizing blockchain technologies to attract foreign direct investment and position itself as a key financial hub in the region. AMCHAM Chairman James Kim, quoted by the business lobby, emphasized the significance of this moment for Korea to leverage blockchain innovation. "At this pivotal moment, Korea has a unique opportunity to harness this innovation, and AMCHAM is proud to serve as a bridge between the United States and Korea in advancing digital finance and fostering sustainable growth," Kim remarked.
Kim further highlighted that with the right policy environment and enhanced collaboration between government and industry, Korea could draw greater foreign investment, modernize its financial infrastructure, and establish itself as Asia's leading hub for digital finance.
