Seoul: Acting President Han Duck-soo stated that South Korea and the United States are actively seeking a "win-win" resolution to the ongoing issue concerning U.S. "reciprocal" tariffs on imports from South Korea. Han made these remarks during a breakfast meeting with Maryland Governor Wes Moore, who was visiting South Korea with a trade delegation.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Han's office released a statement indicating that the United States and South Korea are engaging in communication, cooperation, and negotiation at various levels, including ministerial discussions, to reach a mutually beneficial solution. Han also requested Governor Moore's interest in these efforts.

Governor Moore expressed optimism about the negotiations, acknowledging the significance of the South Korea-U.S. relationship. He assured that he would offer any support necessary to facilitate these discussions.

The meeting also highlighted the growing cooperation between Maryland and South Korea in sectors such as quantum technology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and space. Han expressed his desire for continued leadership in the development of future industries by both South Korea and Maryland.

Governor Moore committed to enhancing collaboration between South Korea and Maryland, recognizing the contributions of South Korean businesses and individuals to Maryland's political, economic, and social spheres. He specifically noted advancements made by South Korean companies in quantum, bio, and space innovations.

Furthermore, Han and Moore reaffirmed the importance of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and agreed to work toward its ongoing development.
