Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol will embark on a trip to Peru and Brazil from November 14 to 21 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Group of 20 (G20) summits, as announced by his office on Tuesday. Yoon's itinerary includes a visit to Peru from Thursday to Saturday for the APEC summit, followed by a journey to Brazil from Sunday to Tuesday for the G20 summit, according to Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo. According to Yonhap News Agency, on the sidelines of the APEC and G20 summits, Yoon is planning a bilateral summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. Additionally, discussions are ongoing for a trilateral summit with U.S. President Joe Biden and Ishiba, as well as a separate meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. When asked about a potential meeting with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump during his South America trip, an official indicated that close communications are in progress. Yoon and Trump have agreed to meet at an early date following a recen t phone conversation.
