Seoul: Unionized railway workers have once again postponed their plan to initiate a strike following the union's temporary agreement with the government regarding bonus payments, union officials reported on Tuesday. The Korean Railway Workers' Union had been set to commence a strike on Tuesday, but this plan was shelved after achieving a temporary deal overnight.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the state railway operator confirmed that trains were operating normally on Tuesday. The government has proposed a phased approach to increase performance bonus payments, offering 90 percent of the base salary next year and 100 percent by 2027. The union has been advocating for performance bonuses to be set at 100 percent of base pay, aligning with other public institutions.
