Buan: A U.S. military's Apache helicopter made a precautionary landing on farmland in the southwestern county of Buan on Monday, but no casualties were reported, officials said. The AH-64 Apache aircraft was on a routine training flight near Kunsan Air Base when it was forced to make the landing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division reported that the incident occurred at around 12:20 p.m. The two crew members aboard the helicopter managed to escape safely, and authorities have confirmed that no one was injured.
A Buan police official mentioned that an on-site investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident. Meanwhile, the U.S. Army unit has dispatched a maintenance team to inspect the aircraft and coordinate recovery operations. The cause of the incident remains unknown at this time.
