U.S. Keeps South Korea on Its ‘Monitoring List’ for FX Policy

Washington: The United States has maintained South Korea on its list of countries whose foreign exchange policies are under scrutiny, as revealed by a Treasury Department report released on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Treasury Department published the updated list in the semiannual "Report to Congress on Macroeconomic and Foreign Exchange Policies of Major Trading Partners of the United States." The report outlines the countries that are being monitored for their foreign exchange activities and policies.

The current monitoring list includes South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Germany, Ireland, and Switzerland. Notably, all countries except Thailand were also included in the Monitoring List in the June 2025 Report.
