Seoul: South Korean budget carrier T'way Air has announced its rebranding as Trinity Airways, a move that follows its acquisition by leisure conglomerate Sono Trinity Group.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Sono Trinity Group, previously known as Daemyung Sono Group, obtained a 46 percent stake in T'way Air for 250 billion won (US$176.4 million) in February 2025, making it the airline's largest shareholder. The rebranding was endorsed at a shareholders meeting in March and later received the green light from South Korean aviation authorities. This marks the first time in 16 years that the airline has changed its name.
The airline revealed plans to enhance its service offerings, including upgraded in-flight services and the introduction of a new mileage program linked to the group's travel and hospitality businesses. Sono Trinity Group operates hotels and resorts at approximately 20 locations within South Korea and another 20 internationally.
Trinity Airways currently operates 58 international routes, with 30 destinations across Southeast and Northeast Asia, 18 in Japan, five cities in Europe, three in Russia and Central Asia, and one each in the Americas and Oceania.
