Seoul: BGF Retail on Thursday reported its second-quarter net income of 56.8 billion won (US$40.1 million), marking a 7.6 percent increase from a year earlier. The company, known for operating CU convenience stores, released this information in a regulatory filing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, BGF Retail's operating profit for the April-June period rose 22.3 percent on-year to 84.9 billion won. Additionally, the company's sales increased by 6 percent to reach 2.42 trillion won. The earnings results were in line with market expectations, as the average net profit estimate by analysts was 57.1 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
