Trump Rejects Iran’s Latest Peace Proposal: No Concessions Offered

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Monday that he is not open to making any concessions for Iran, following Tehran's recent peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict with the United States. This statement came during a brief phone interview with the New York Post after Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency announced that the Iranian government had submitted a revised 14-point proposal to Pakistani mediators. The proposal reportedly emphasizes negotiations to end hostilities and introduces "trust-building" measures.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Trump expressed skepticism about Iran's intentions, stating, "I can tell you they want to make a deal more than ever, because they know we're ... what's going to be happening soon." His comments carried a foreboding tone as he further intensified pressure on Iran through a social media post, warning that "for Iran, the clock is ticking, and they better get moving fast, or there won't be anything left of them."

In his conversation with the New York Post, Trump clarified that he does not feel "frustrated" with Tehran, yet he made it evident that Iran is fully aware of the potential consequences the U.S. might impose. Despite previously suggesting a willingness to consider a 20-year moratorium on Iran's uranium enrichment, Trump emphasized, "I'm not open to anything right now."

Meanwhile, Axios reported, citing a senior U.S. official and an unidentified source, that the White House views Iran's latest proposal as inadequate and not a significant step forward in negotiations.
