Top Diplomats of S. Korea and Saudi Arabia Discuss Economic Ties in Phone Talks

Seoul: Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, engaged in discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the economy and other practical areas during recent phone talks, as stated by the foreign ministry.

According to Yonhap News Agency, during the conversation, Cho emphasized the significance of Saudi Arabia as South Korea's largest supplier of crude oil and highlighted the substantial overseas construction contracts secured by South Korean companies in the nation. He described Saudi Arabia as an essential partner for Seoul's continued economic development and expressed hope for further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation as future-oriented strategic partners.

In response, Faisal acknowledged South Korea as a key partner in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative. He expressed anticipation for expanding practical cooperation between the two nations through continued high-level exchanges.
