Tom Cruise to Visit Seoul for ‘Mission: Impossible’ Promotion Next Month

Seoul: Tom Cruise will visit South Korea next month to promote his upcoming movie "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning," its local distributor Lotte Entertainment said Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the actor shared his excitement in a video message, stating, "Hello Korea, I am so excited to share that I'll be returning to Seoul with the cast of 'Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning' in May. I look forward to seeing you all very, very soon. Thank you."

This visit will mark Cruise's 12th trip to South Korea since his first visit in 1994 to promote "Interview with the Vampire." His latest visit was in 2023 for the promotion of "Mission: Impossible -- Dead Reckoning Part One."

While the exact date of his arrival has not been announced, Cruise's consistent warm interactions with Korean fans have earned him the affectionate nickname "Kind Tom ajeossi," a term used in Korea to refer to a middle-aged man.

"Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning" is the eighth film in the action franchise. The movie is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
