Tigers Triumph Over Twins in KBO Postseason Opener

Gwangju:The Kia Tigers secured a victorious start to their South Korean baseball postseason series with a 5-1 win over the LG Twins. Slugger Kim Do-yeong led the charge with two home runs and four RBIs, while starting pitcher James Naile delivered an impressive performance, pitching seven innings and allowing just one run.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim broke a 1-1 tie with a solo home run in the fourth inning at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. He further extended the lead with a sacrifice fly in the sixth and capped off his performance with a two-run homer in the eighth.

Naile's effective pitching limited the Twins to four hits in front of a sellout crowd of 18,000.

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. in the same Gwangju stadium. Historically, teams that have won the first game in the best-of-five first round have advanced nine out of ten times.
