Seoul: The historical film "The King's Warden" has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 7 million admissions in the domestic box office, as reported by data from the Korean Film Council. The film has attracted a total of 7.01 million viewers as of Friday, following its release on February 4, which is more than twice its break-even point of approximately 2.6 million.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "The King's Warden" is directed by Jang Hang-jun, known for his previous works such as the action comedy "Break Out" (2002) and the sports drama "Rebound" (2023). The film presents a fictional reimagining of historical events, focusing on the unexpected friendship between village chief Eom Heung-do, portrayed by Yoo Hai-jin, and the young deposed King Danjong, played by Park Ji-hoon, during the king's exile in the village.
