Reporters reported that today the Election Commission met to consider various petitions and reports related to the Senate election, including the report on the results of the national Senate election, which was conducted on June 26. The meeting lasted from approximately 11:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m., or approximately 2 hours, and was a confidential meeting. After the meeting, it was reported that the meeting had not yet considered approving the report on the results of the senator election, even though the matter was on the agenda. It was reported that since each EC member still had different opinions on approving the results of the senator election, there was only a discussion about the work that needed to be done to make it clear before the results were announced. However, the national senator election was completed on June 26, almost 2 wee ks have passed, and the Organic Act on the Acquisition of Senators does not specify a time frame for the EC to certify the results of the senator election. It only states that the results can be certified after 5 days after the national election is completed if the EC considers that the election process was correct, honest, and fair. 14.
