Hanoi: A special delegation of President Lee Jae Myung met with the general secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party in Hanoi on Tuesday and delivered Lee's letter expressing his wish to deepen bilateral ties.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the delegation, headed by former lawmaker Park Chang-dal and including Reps. Yoon Hu-duk and Baek Hye-ryun of the ruling Democratic Party, met with To Lam at the party's headquarters. In his letter, Lee thanked Lam for sending a congratulatory message on his inauguration day June 4 and expressed his wish that the two countries' relations will continually develop, as stated by the delegation.
Lam responded that he also hopes for more active cooperation between the two countries in business, science, culture, and various other areas. The delegation separately met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at his office, and Chinh voiced confidence that the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership will develop further.
Park conveyed Lee's great interest in Vietnam and his high expectations for the two countries' joint development.
