Seoul: South Korea's equities and derivatives market will be closed on December 31, as announced by the Korea Exchange (KRX) on Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the KRX stated that after-hour trading of derivative products will still take place, running from 6 p.m. on December 30 to 6 a.m. the following day. Additionally, the ex-dividend date for companies that have a December record date will be December 29, as noted by the bourse operator.
In the upcoming year, the first business day for the market will be January 2, with the market opening one hour later than the usual schedule at 10 a.m., as confirmed by KRX.
