Seoul: Six more South Koreans and an Iranian family member have successfully evacuated Iran, crossing into Turkmenistan as tensions escalate between Iran and Israel. Seoul's foreign ministry announced the development, highlighting the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of its nationals.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the group included two South Korean nationals and an Iranian family member who arrived in Ashgabat on Friday afternoon. This follows the earlier evacuation of four other South Koreans who also traveled to the Turkmen capital via the same route. These movements are part of a broader operation by the South Korean government, which has now seen a total of 37 South Koreans leave Iran since the conflict intensified.

Earlier in the week, 26 South Koreans and four Iranian family members were transported to Turkmenistan with assistance from the South Korean government. The rising hostilities between Israel and Iran have led to increased evacuations, with numerous countries working to bring their citizens to safety.

In parallel, the conflict has led to the evacuation of at least 43 South Koreans and their Israeli family members from Israel, who have since taken refuge in Jordan. Before the conflict erupted last Friday, it was estimated that 110 South Koreans were in Iran, with approximately 500 in Israel.
