Pattaya:A South Korean national who went missing amid recent heavy rains in Thailand has been confirmed dead, as reported by Seoul's foreign ministry on Monday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the confirmation came after an identification process conducted in cooperation with Thai authorities. The South Korean Embassy in Thailand confirmed that the body, which was initially presumed to be a Korean man, is indeed a South Korean national.
The individual went missing while walking on a flooded road near the city of Pattaya alongside two other men last Thursday. The body was discovered by a fisherman on Sunday.
The South Korean foreign ministry is currently providing necessary consular support to the bereaved family members.
