Suwon:South Korea secured a 3-0 victory against Ecuador in a men's football friendly, marking a successful debut for interim head coach Robert Moreno with the Taegeuk Warriors. According to Yonhap News Agency, the match took place at Suwon World Cup Stadium, located just south of Seoul. This encounter was South Korea's first since their group-stage exit from the FIFA World Cup in June, which led to the dismissal of former head coach Hong Myung-bo. The Korea Football Association appointed Moreno on an interim basis for a series of six friendly matches from September to November, giving him the opportunity to potentially lead the team in the Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup in January based on his performance. The goals were all scored in the second half by Oh Hyeon-gyu, Son Heung-min, and Lee Dong-gyeong. Notably, team captain Son Heung-min scored his 57th career goal, moving him closer to the country's all-time goal-scoring record held by Cha Bum-kun. South Korea is set to face Uruguay next at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 8 p.m. on Monday.
