South Korea Reports Third Avian Influenza Case of the Season.

Incheon: South Korea has confirmed the season's third case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) at a poultry farm west of Seoul, according to a provincial government announcement on Monday. The case was reported at a chicken farm in Incheon's Ganghwa County, located 51 kilometers west of the capital. According to Yonhap News Agency, authorities have culled over 15,000 chickens at the affected farm and plan to slaughter an additional 17,000 chickens raised at nearby farms to prevent the spread of the virus. This latest occurrence comes after South Korea confirmed the season's second case of highly pathogenic AI earlier this month. The government is taking precautionary measures to control the outbreak and minimize the risk of further transmission. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to contain avian influenza, which poses a significant threat to poultry farms in the region.
