According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean government has requested an official explanation and apology from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This follows Zelenskyy's recent disclosure about the transfer, along with a statement from his office denying any agreement to keep the matter confidential.
South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun revealed that he received a message from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, which included an apology. However, Cho mentioned that the apology did not meet Seoul's expectations and stated the government's intention to take "firm measures."
The foreign ministry confirmed the decision to recall its ambassador to Ukraine to Seoul. It expressed hope for a smooth resolution of various issues between the two countries and affirmed ongoing consultations with the Ukrainian side to achieve this.
