Cortina d'ampezzo: South Korea's aspirations for securing a second Olympic medal in curling were dashed as they faced a 10-7 defeat against Canada in the women's curling tournament. The match took place at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo, located 260 kilometers northeast of Milan.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean team, led by skip Gim Eun-ji, ended their round-robin campaign tied at 4-4, before Canada scored four decisive points in the sixth end, securing a place in the semifinals. South Korea concluded the tournament in fifth place with a 5-4 record, trailing behind Sweden, the United States, Switzerland, and Canada.

In figure skating, Lee Hae-in achieved an eighth-place finish in the women's singles with a total of 210.56 points. She attained a season-best of 140.49 points in the free skate, complementing her 70.07 points from the short program. Shin Ji-a, another South Korean competitor, finished 11th with a personal-best free skate score of 141.02 points, totaling 206.68 points.

Speed skater Chung Jae-won, aiming for his second consecutive medal in the men's mass start, participated in the 1,500m event in Milan. As a last-minute entry, he finished in 14th place with a time of 1:45.80.

Additionally, former Olympic bobsleigh silver medalist Won Yun-jong was elected to the Athletes' Commission of the International Olympic Committee. Won garnered 1,176 votes from 2,393 athletes who voted over several days. He becomes the third South Korean member of the commission and the first from a winter sport.
