Seoul: The government issued a precautionary alert on Thursday regarding a potential energy supply disruption due to the ongoing geopolitical crisis in the Middle East, as stated by the industry ministry. The ministry has committed to taking firm action against any unfair market practices that may arise concerning energy supply and prices.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the government has implemented a Level 1, or blue, alert within the nation's four-tier national resource security warning system. This measure is intended to proactively address potential disruptions to South Korea's energy supply linked to the crisis involving Iran. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources has underscored the importance of this alert in maintaining energy stability.

In a related development, the Iranian and Israeli ambassadors to South Korea held separate press conferences in Seoul on Thursday. The events unfolded as the conflict in the Middle East escalated, with the United States and Israel leveling accusations against Iran, while Tehran responded in kind. The press conferences were convened by Iranian Ambassador Saeed Koozechi and Israeli Ambassador Rafael Harpaz, who invited South Korean reporters to discuss the ongoing tensions and their implications.
