Soldier Attending Class 1 Armour Course Dies After Hospital Treatment

Pahang: A 22-year-old soldier attending the Class 1 Armour Crew Course at 10th Mile Camp died yesterday evening following treatment at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA). The soldier, Trooper K. Indiran, was discovered unconscious at the camp on February 18 and was swiftly transported to HTAA for medical attention, as confirmed by Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the police chief reported that a post-mortem examination found no physical injuries, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR). Indiran's family members are currently at the hospital's Forensic Medicine Department, making arrangements for his remains to be transported to Penang for burial.

Social media had previously circulated allegations linking Indiran's death to bullying. However, his stepfather, L. Mathivanan, mentioned that the family had spoken to Indiran via video call a day before he was found unconscious. During the call, Indiran appeared healthy and cheerful, and he was even planning a family gathering for the upcoming month.

Indiran was the son of the late Major C. Kayamboo, a Royal Malaysian Air Force pilot who perished in a 2016 aircraft crash. Despite the tragedy that claimed his father's life, Indiran was determined to pursue a career in the military and follow in his father's footsteps. He was among 1,144 recruits who completed the Malaysian Army Young Soldier Training Series 200/2024 at the Basic Army Training Centre (PUSASDA) in Port Dickson on September 15, 2024.
