SKC Reports Q2 Net Loss Amid Rising Revenue

Seoul: SKC Co., a South Korean chemical materials producer, reported a net loss of 4 billion won (US$2.9 million) for the second quarter, maintaining a negative financial performance compared to the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it sustained an operating loss of 70.2 billion won during the April to June timeframe, in contrast to a 61.6 billion won loss reported in the previous year. Despite the ongoing losses, SKC’s revenue saw an increase of 3.1 percent, reaching 467.3 billion won.

The financial results underscore the challenges SKC faces in its efforts to return to profitability, even as it experiences growth in revenue. The company continues to navigate the complexities of the chemical materials market, striving to improve its financial standing in the coming quarters.
