Seoul: SK hynix Inc. has announced the development of an advanced LPDDR6 dynamic random access memory (DRAM) product tailored for mobile devices featuring artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The company revealed this innovation on Tuesday, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing memory solutions in the AI sector.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the newly developed 16Gb LPDDR6 DRAM is based on sixth-generation 10nm-class process technology and has successfully completed the validation process after its introduction at CES 2026 in January. SK hynix plans to finalize preparations for mass production in the first half of the year, with plans to begin supplying the product in the second half, thereby expanding its conventional DRAM lineup optimized for AI applications.

The chipmaker stated that the new DRAM will be integrated into mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets that are equipped with on-device AI functionalities. Furthermore, SK hynix highlighted that the new product offers a 33 percent improvement in data processing speed compared to the previous generation. This advancement is expected to enhance user experiences by providing longer battery life and optimized multitasking performance.
