Seoul: Samyang Foods Inc. announced that its Buldak ramyeon series has reached a significant milestone, with cumulative sales exceeding 10 billion units and generating 7 trillion won (US$4.5 billion) since its launch 14 years ago.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Buldak ramyeon, introduced in 2012, has become one of South Korea's leading food exports. Initially, the spicy noodle brand was exported to countries such as Japan, Germany, and New Zealand. Today, it is available in approximately 100 countries worldwide.
The Buldak series has demonstrated impressive growth, surpassing 1 billion units sold in 2017, reaching over 4 billion units by 2022, and exceeding 9 billion units in 2025, before achieving the latest milestone. This global demand has propelled Samyang Foods to surpass US$900 million in exports last year, with the Buldak series accounting for about 60 percent of South Korea's ramyeon exports.
