Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced on Thursday that it will unveil its new ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone next week.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the launch event, titled "Galaxy S25 Edge: Beyond Slim," is scheduled to be livestreamed at 9 a.m. (Korean time) on May 13. The event will be accessible via Samsung Electronics' official newsroom, website, and YouTube channel.
The teaser video for the event highlighted the smartphone's ultra-slim profile, anticipated to be just 5.8 millimeters thick. This is a significant reduction compared to the Galaxy S25's 7.2 mm and the Galaxy S24's 7.6 mm. Despite the slimmer design, Samsung Electronics assured that the Galaxy S25 Edge retains the same high-tech features as the standard S25, including a 200-megapixel camera and integrated mobile artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
Samsung Electronics described the latest addition to the Galaxy S series as both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, combining flagship-level performance with enhanced portability. The new Edge model was initially previewed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in March, where it garnered attention as Samsung Electronics' slimmest smartphone to date.
