Samsung to Launch Three New Galaxy Z Foldable Smartphones in South Korea on Friday

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced on Thursday that it will launch its new Galaxy Z foldable smartphone lineup in South Korea this Friday. The new series includes the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the release follows a record-breaking 1.44 million units in preorders, marking the highest-ever figure for a Galaxy smartphone series. Samsung Electronics reported that customers in their teens, 20s, and 30s made up half of all preorders, with female customers more than doubling from the previous Galaxy foldable lineup.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8, which features Samsung's new foldable form factor, accounted for approximately 70 percent of all preorders. The new lineup is powered by Alphabet Inc.'s Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) and aims to meet varying user needs and lifestyles while providing enhanced personalized AI features and experiences.

Following its debut in South Korea, the new Galaxy Z lineup is set to be available in over 100 countries, including the United States, Britain, India, and Japan.
