Samsung SDI and KG Mobility Partner to Develop Advanced EV Battery Pack Technology

Seoul: Samsung SDI Co. announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with KG Mobility Corp. to collaboratively develop cutting-edge battery pack technologies for electric vehicles (EVs), focusing on enhanced safety and durability.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean battery manufacturer signed a memorandum of understanding with KG Mobility. This collaboration aims to advance EV battery pack technologies using 46-series cylindrical batteries, which are set to be integrated into KG Mobility's future electric vehicle models. Samsung SDI highlighted that its 46-series cylindrical battery is designed to offer high energy density, which supports an extended driving range and enables fast charging capabilities.

The partnership will also see the two companies exchanging information about global battery markets and exploring strategic cooperation opportunities, including joint research and development projects. This initiative reflects both companies' commitment to innovation and leadership in the evolving EV industry.
