Munich: Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. are gearing up to showcase their latest advancements in automotive technology at the IAA Mobility 2025, which will be held from September 9-14 in Munich, Germany. This strategic participation is part of their ongoing efforts to expand their footprint in the automotive components sector, according to industry sources.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics will be represented by its semiconductor division, alongside Samsung Display Co. and Samsung SDI Co., at the biennial event. This marks the second time Samsung Electronics is taking part in this global gathering, which attracts leading carmakers and auto parts suppliers. The company is set to unveil its latest innovations targeting the vehicle chip market, positioning the automotive sector as a pivotal growth area.
Samsung Display is preparing to exhibit its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) offerings designed for automotive applications, while Samsung SDI will focus on presenting its battery technologies specifically tailored for the European market.
Simultaneously, LG Electronics plans to host a conference to outline its business strategy and vision for future mobility, particularly emphasizing the software-defined vehicle (SDV) concept, on the event's opening day. LG Electronics aims to fortify its position in the automotive components industry, which it views as a significant growth driver. The company's portfolio encompasses in-vehicle infotainment systems, the webOS Auto content platform, and the LG Alphaware mobility software solution.
A company official from LG Electronics emphasized the brand's collaborative efforts with leading industry partners to revolutionize the in-vehicle experience. "At the event, we will present our vision to lead the in-car content ecosystem in the SDV era," the official stated.
